Challenging but beautiful hike to an alpine lake in the middle of summer. Ideal hiking conditions abounded. Temp at trailhead @ 3 pm was around 90, at the lakes temp by 8 pm was around 75. Nighttime low as probably around 45. I didn’t expect to see as many people camping as I did, but there was still plenty of room to pitch a tent. As there were no lakeside campsites available, I had to go up to a rock outcrop overlooking the lake, but everyone at the lake was quiet and respectful.
